AB launches Soz
Amitabh Bachchan put in a rare appearance at the Soz launch at the Regent on Monday. Soz, the latest Jagjit Singh and Javed Akhtar album marks the third collaboration of the duo.
After officially launching the album, Bachchan narrated how Akhtar and Jagjit went back as old buddies of his and wished them every success.
Shabana Azmi, actress turned MP was also present at the gathering.
Decorum, Discipline... Words Aamir lives by
Aamir's is discipline personified.
The industry had talked about how Aamir had insisted that the Ambanis show respect to the trial of Lagaan by not making a picnic out of the screening.
The fastidious actor even walked out of the room when the trailers of Dil Chahta Hai were shown a second time for those who walked in late, while guests drank and food lay served on the table.
In fact, the actor was heard making his displeasure known to the director Farhan Akhtar.
Suchitra is a bit girl
She's decided to jump onto the bandwagon, sooner rather than later.
Suchitra Pillai, model and VJ is doing a bit part in the Goldie Behl's Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai and Farhan Aktar's Dil Chahta Hai.
"In Bas Itna.., I play journalist who is the narrator of the story and helps steer it along...Did it only because Srishti (the film's producer) and me have been best of friends for 13 years. I come in at the beginning and at the end.
But in Dil Chahta Hai, I play Saif's ex-girlfriend, whom he is terrified of! It was a fun character! Farhan is the kind of director who lets you add your own bit colour and interpretation to the character," she says.
Om Puri plays cops and robbers
Om Puri will join South Indian hero Abbas in Ansh, a film based on the life of cops produced by Suresh Sharma.
Sharma said that he was making Ansh to focus on the problems faced by policemen, as he felt there were too many films portraying them as corrupt goons.
Ansh depicts the dilemma of cops who must constantly battle politicians and a corrupt system, while trying to perform their duties.

Satish Kaushik gets selective
Mujhe Kucch Khena Hai director Satish Kaushik seems to have become selective about his upcoming projects.
Lapping up all the offers that come his way, is not his priority now because he's decided he wants to work on man has decided to accept only those that spell success.
His latest is producer Boney Kapoor's next, starring Anil Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. And you can bet that it'll be one heck of a remake, knowing Boney's forte!
