Sunil Shetty steps in as Govinda steps out... of the small screen

Sunil Shetty Rumour has it that Sony will be taking the Govinda hosted show -- Chhappar Phaad Ke show, off the air next month because of the falling TRPs. This comes after Zee's quiz show Sawal Dus Crore Ka hosted by Anupam Kher and Manisha Koirala bit the dust too.

But as Govinda makes his final bows, macho man Sunil Shetty has been negotiating with a television channel to host a TV show, which will have him interacting with kids.

IDBI shells out over Rs 20 crore to finance films

The Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) in what's been a first has agreed to finance films. The two films they have agreed to loan money for are Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahe starring Fardeen Khan and newcomer Richa Palak for Rs 4 crore and a Crest Communications' animation film for Rs 16.5 crore.

Kuch Tum Kaho, Kuch Hum Kahe produced by Dr D Rama Naidu and directed by Ravishankar, it is a remake of Naidu's Telugu film Kalisundham Raa that featured Venkatesh.

Karan Nath is going strong

Karan Nath Although Karan Nath's debut film Paagalpan didn't drive the audiences wild, he seems to made his mark in Hindi cinema. This son of veteran star secretary Rakesh Nath, has bagged Boney Kapoor's remake of a Tamil hit with music by Nadeem-Shravan.

He's also has a Tips film -- Friends, Kuku Kohli's Yeh Dil Ashiqana, Vimal Kumar's Aashiqi Deewangi and Venus' Love In Kashmir in his kitty.

Lisa Ray and Lucky Ali to star together

Lisa Ray Lisa Ray has been signed on opposite singing sensation Lucky Ali for a film co-starring Raveena Tandon.

The film entitled Kya Main Ab Bhi Tumse Pyaar Karta Hoon, will be directed by Bobby Khan, a veteran music-video maker.
