First Karisma, now Deepti Naval!

Komal Nahta

For the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit, Anthapuram, it has been a veritable merry-go-round for producer Boney Kapoor.

Sridevi was supposed to play the lead role. But then she got pregnant with her second child. Which was when Boney Kapoor signed Kajol. The latter then pleaded inability to do the film.

Deepti Naval Finally, Karisma Kapoor stepped into the breach.

Meanwhile, the role of Karisma's mother-in-law also went through the same merry-go-round trip. Rati Agnihotri was the first choice. But the now-busy actress had no dates to share.

Hema Malini and Jaya Prada were also considered. But the one who has been finally signed is Deepti Naval.

Incidentally, Deepti's costar in the remake is Nana Patekar.
