Asha, Raveena, Anil collect their National Awards

Dressed in a flame coloured silk sari actress Raveena Tandon collected her best actress award for her performance in Daman from President K R Narayanan on December 12.

The National Award for the Best Actor was awarded to Anil Kapoor for his performance in Pukar. The President also presented the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2000 to 'the Queen of Versatility' Asha Bhosle for her contribution to the Indian film industry.

Also cheering the winners was Information and Broadcasting Minister Sushma Swaraj. The other awardess included Amol Palekar ( who received his fourth consecutive National award), lyricist Javed Akhtar, music director Anu Malik, singer Shankar Mahadevan, directors Shyam Benegal and Rituparno Ghosh.

AB to host KBC on radio?

Amitabh Bachchan said he might consider hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati on the radio if a suitable offer was made to him.

Bachchan was in Lucknow to announce the launch of the 24-hr FM channel Radio Mirchi. The FM channel, promoted by Star India and Music Broadcast Ltd.

Jimmy and Uday -- Together again

After Mohabbatein, actors Jimmy Shergill and Uday Chopra will be seen together again in the next Yash Raj Films, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.

The film is on the floors and is being directed by Sanjay Gadhvi. Bipasha Basu also puts in a special appearance while newcomer Sanjana plays the leading lady.

Ritu Shivpuri takes the plunge

Actress Ritu Shivpuri tied the knot with long time beau Hari Venkat recently. The nuptials took place at Hari's farmhouse in Karjat.
