Film stars haven't cleared their Income Tax dues

132 film personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Subhash Ghai, Ram Gopal Verma and Yash Johar, owe the government income tax in excess of Rs 1050 million.

While Amitabh Bachchan's ABCL owes the highest due of Rs 177.693 million, the star himself has not paid Rs 106.716 million. His wife Jaya also owes Rs 19.952 million, Minister of State for Finance Balasaheb Vikhe Patil said in a written statement in Parliament.

The entire schedule of Deewanapan was handled by Vashu's son Jackie. While the entire schedules of Meghna Gulzar's Filhaal have been handled by producer Jhamu Sughand's son. Like father, like son.

Lagaan completes 25 weeks

Aamir Khan's Lagaan entered its 25th week of screening in Bombay, Calcutta and other some other cities in India.

Meanwhile, we hear that February 2002 will see Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar take on the might of Aamir Khan's Oscar-nominated Lagaan team on the cricket field.

Teaming up with Tendulkar and Ganguly would be the likes of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee and State Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta. Some other star cricketers of the Indian team are also scheduled to take part at exhibition match to be held at the Eden Gardens in Calcutta.

The match is expected to raise Rs 2 crore which will be donated to developing housing for the city's orphans.
