London gets a taste of Bollywood

Selfridges, the leading British retail chain, will recreate Bollywood in 2002, as part of its new marketing strategy -- 'retail theatre'.

Choreographers Farah Khan and Ganesh will recreate Chaiyan Chaiyan on a moving train in-store and Londoners will learn to do Bollywood dance steps in atrium classes.

Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan are some of the celebrities Selfridges will play host to in the coming summer.

20 Indian designers have also been approached to showcase their collections at the store.

Censor board on the prowl

The culture vultures are on the prowl again. Censor board chairman Vijay Anand said that all films shown at the international film fests held in India will be censored.

Anand further emphasised the need to modify the Cinematographic Act of 1952.

AB shoots for KBC's final show

The last episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati with Amitabh Bachchan as host, was shot behind closed doors. The episode has been shrouded in secrecy and we're sure that Bachchan has an ace up his sleeve for the serial's finale.

The producers apparently hope to resurrect the show in a year, with a larger booty as prize money.

Anurag Kashyap's next film

His next film, he tells us, stars newcomer Antara Mali, Raja Chaudhary, Kay Kay and is called Agar. The film is expected to go on the floors in January 2002.
