Paanch denied censor certificate

The censor board is at the centre of another controversy. Paanch -- the debut film of director Anurag Kashyap has been refused a censor certificate.

Paanch is based on the Abyankar murder case which rocked Pune in the early 80s where a man was kidnapped and murdered by a group of young men in to make a fast buck. It has been denied a certificate on the grounds that it does not constitute healthy entertainment.

The film shot on a shoestring budget, stars Tejaswani Kolhapure and a host of theatre actors. Anurag Kashyap had previously written the story of hard-hitting films like Satya and Shool.

Ajay Devgan's crisis

Ajay Devgan If rumours are to be believed, Ajay Devgan's Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke is facing problems. Apparently the disagreement is about the amount of commission to be paid to the director.

Things have taken such a serious turn that matters have apparently been referred to an association.

Sanjay Dutt and Mahesh Manjrekar work together again

Mahesh Manjrekar Five years ago Mahesh Manjrekar cast Sanjay Dutt for a special appearance in Nidaan. Ever since the two have become fast friends, working together for Vaastav and Kurukshetra.

So, when Manjrekar needed someone to play an NRI businessman in his latest film Tere Pyar Ki Kasam he turned to Sanjay. Tere Pyar Ki Kasam also stars Sunil Shetty and Mahima.

Sanjay Dutt has just finished shooting for Mahesh Manjrekar's Pitah, a film which has Sanjay playing a villager exploited by the landlord.

Vaanaprastham is the toast of town

Vaanaprastham Yaadein isn't the talk of the town in Bombay. Surprisingly it is the Shaji Karun National Award winner Vaanaprastham that has caught the audience's fancy.

The film has Southern superstar Mohanlal in the lead, which won him the national award. Mohanlal and Shahji Karun are already working on their next project that stars Jaya Bachchan.
