Bharat Shah, Rizvi remanded till May 10Nasim Rizvi, producer of Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, his assistant, Abdul Rahim Allah Baksh, and film financier Bharat Shah, charged with alleged nexus with the underworld, were on Monday further remanded to judicial custody till May 10 by a special court. They were produced before designated Judge A P Bhangale who hears cases under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act. In a related development, the special court formally attached the immovable property of Tarun Channalal Shah, Bharat Shah's secretary, who was declared a proclaimed offender on April 12. Tarun Shah has been absconding since his employer's arrest on January 8. The judge issued an order directing Tarun Shah to appear before him on Monday, else his Bombay flat would be attached by the court. When Tarun Shah failed to appear in court, the judge attached his property. He was also declared a proclaimed offender after a plea made by Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian, who claimed such a step was necessary to produce him before the court. It was necessary, she said, because he was a confidante of Bharat Shah and would be able to throw light on the alleged deals made by the film financier with Karachi-based gangster Chhota Shakeel. Bharat Shah faces charges of helping Shakeel target Hindi film personalities for financial gain. The police last month filed a chargesheet against him, Rizvi and Allah Baksh. Shah has moved the courts for bail four times, but each time his bail plea has been rejected. PTI
