For a few notes more...

Komal Nahta

And for some more Fiza!

The film has been booked at cinema halls across the country at exhorbitant rates. That, considering it is the film of a first-time director. Khalid Mohamed would do well to feel flattered! Fiza

Hrithik Roshan, of course, remains one of the big draws of the film. And this is only his second release -- that's, of course, if you discount the Coke commercials.

Fiza also has another plus -- good music by Anu Malik.

Hot question: Will it live up to the euphoria?

A mission to record!

Now, here's one man who is confident.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is confident his Mission Kashmir will create tidal waves -- if not more then certainly as much as -- the kind Fiza did.

Going by the interest evinced by the distributors and exhibitors, MK just might set a new record as far as number of release prints is concerned. In C P Berar alone, the film will be released with a record number of 40 prints! Generally, the number of prints for a star-studded film is 25 to 30 in C P Berar.

Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega In fact, Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega currently holds the record in C P for the maximum number of prints released on premiere (33).

When asked whether his film would open with about 450 prints all over India, Vinod Chopra revealed, "The number of prints, including the overseas ones, might even go up to 500!"

Never-say-die Vashu!

Producer Vashu Bhagnani never says die!

Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa When Tera Jadoo Chal Gayaa was declared a dud at the BO, Bhagnani set on whirlwind tours of the North India with hero Abhishek Bachchan in tow.

The two visited two cities of U P, made an appearance at a screening of the film at Nishat, Kanpur. Both received a tumultuous welcome from filmgoers. The two also visited Novelty, Lucknow, where another grand reception awaited them.

Accompanying the two was MP Amar Singh. The same Amar Singh who is trying to negotiate Amitabh Bachchan's dues with Doordarshan and pull out the ex-superstar out of his financial troubles.

Title Tattle

Appropriate titles have always been the bane of every director's job.

Let me just paint the picture for you: What usually happens is a title. Then it has to be registered. If there are two producers with the same title, the registration vests with the first.

The bloke who is sidelined then has to think of another title.

Having an English appendage to a Hindi title was born out of this situation.

Daag The Fire And thus Raj Kanwar, who couldn't swing it with Daag (already registered as a Yash Chopra film), opted for Daag The Fire.

And thus began the fashion of titling films with English words after the Hindi one.

Presenting some for your reading pleasure:

Tabaahi The Destroyer
The Real Fire -- Agan
Jaihind The Pride (incidentally, The Pride was ultimately dropped)
Pyaas The Thirst
Sazaa The Punishment
Jaal The Trap
Dal - The Gang
Kargil The Border
Mrityu The Truth
Sandeh The Doubt
Taandav The Dance Of Revenge
Sparsh The Trust
Jadh The Root Cause
Devi The Bride In Red

There's also another trend: of adding Hindi appendages.

Thus we have Ek Rishta because Rishta was already registered.

And there's Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Aaj Ka Devdas-- Devdas was not available.

What would you call this? Paagalpan The Madness?
