Tables turned as Deol played director. Earlier namedLondon, Dillagi was to star Karisma and be directed by UK-based Gurinder Chaddha. Fate had something else in mind. Urmila and Sunny took charge respectively.
Dillagi's release coincided with another Sunny-starrer Pyar Koi Khel Nahin, with a similar theme, as a result of which the film backfired.
