The Congress has nothing to say for itself. Its spin doctors and press have made a bogeyman of the BJP. An incumbent government has to go to the polls with its own record.
Manmohan Singh is pathetic, he does not have a record. So he is demonising the BJP, he's reminding people of Gujarat again.
(Former Gujarat minister) Maya Kodnani is innocent. She is supposed to be the only person from the Gujarat government to have been involved in the post-Godhra riots, right? The evidence is pathetic; I've seen it.
In fact, the people -- I don't want to take names now -- who have filed affidavits in the Supreme Court on behalf of the so-called victims should themselves be in the dock, and you will see there will be some action taken against them, because they have filed false affidavits.
The poor victims are being made to say things which never happened. They themselves have repudiated their affidavits in the Supreme Court.
Yes, the Gujarat riots were a blot but no, it wasn't State-sponsored. That's the truth, and once the BJP comes to power we will establish that.
Give me a fair trial and I'll show what's happening in the Maya Kodnani case. But they won't start the trial before the election, because they know I'll expose what's happened and how Maya's been falsely implicated.
What makes you believe the BJP is the best party to help you take your agenda forward?
I've read its manifesto. The BJP is going to bring back Rs 26 lakh crores (Rs 260,000 billion) stashed in Swiss banks back to this country. No other party is committed to doing that. That makes me very suspicious about the involvement of these parties in that money.
The money is there, nobody's denying its existence. It can be obtained, and it should be done expeditiously because the rest of the world is doing it and we should join hands with them and use their collective power to ensure that we also get our money. That's not being done -- and that to me is a big blot on the existing government.
This government talks about the poor but actually, it perpetrates itself by illegal wealth. It loots the State and hides the money; it supports those who are doing this -- their industrialist friends or whatever.
This government talks about security but in fact, there have been the most terrorist attacks in this country when it was in power. This government talks about giving justice, but in fact judicial delays are getting worse.
