Earlier, Pranab Mukherjee, who is also the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president, criticised the CPI-M for its efforts to cobble up the Third Front.
"How they dare to dream about forming the government when they had no base other than in West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura," he asked.
Pranab Mukherjee had earlier campaigned jointly for the alliance in north Bengal.
Attacking the Left Front government for poor implementation of NREGA schemes, Mukherjee said that while 80 per cent funds had been spent by Tamil Nadu and 75 per cent to 85 per cent in Andhra Pradesh, "very little work has been done in West Bengal under this scheme".
