'My kids are cool. They think this is all mom's work'

April 21, 2009
How will you balance your life in south Mumbai with running the Baramati constituency if you win?

I am going to have an office in the constituency where I am going to come twice a month. The first and third Monday I will be in the constituency. Tuesday and Wednesday every week I will be in Mumbai because all the ministers are in Mumbai on Tuesday and Wednesday. That is one way of meeting all of them and getting the people from my constituency to meet all of them.

Every Thursday and Friday depending on what the need of the constituency is, I will cover it.

There are thousands and millions of working women in this world who work much harder than me. My kids are cool. They think this is all mom's work. They are coming here next weekend. They know the constituency. They have come here hundreds of times.

Adachivadi suffers from electricity issues and villagers are also not too happy with the dam work that will affect their land holdings.

Says Supriya: "They are going to rehabilitate some people here. We will have to convince them that they will have to give up a little land because they are going to get water, which they never had. So if I have the entire cake and I have to give you one slice out of it which is for my betterment it is worth it." Photograph: Sanjay Sawant
