Education facilities are good but no jobs'

April 8, 2009
Shankrappa, another farmer at the Molakalmur segment which is the most backward area of the district, says that the farmers have been suggesting that small dams be constructed. However, till date, all their pleas have fallen on deaf ears.

Figures available with the Karnataka government suggest that a sum of Rs 500 crore has been earmarked for the development of this constituency. However, when the amount will see the light of the day is the million dollar question.

Apart from the problem of water, another issue is infrastructure. The education facilities are good and the literacy is an impressive 75 per cent. However, there are no jobs available here and several people have to move into other parts of the state in search for jobs.
