Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi will start meeting the 12 Independent legislators, holding the key to form government in the state, from 9.30 am on Wednesday, Raj Bhavan sources said on Tuesday.

NDA leaders go on protest mode

Earlier in the day, the governor said he would take a decision about inviting alliances to form the government only after meeting all the 12 Independent candidates.

He said his interviews with the 12 Independent MLAs was not a 'number game' and that the focus should be on whom to invite so that it could prove its majority in the House.

''My responsibility is to ascertain the reality and after getting full satisfaction I will invite that party which will be capable to prove its majority on the floor,'' he said.

The National Democratic Alliance has alleged that the governor is under pressure from the Centre to upset its chances in forming the next government in Jharkhand.

The NDA has submitted to the government a list of 41 MLA required to form the government.
