"If it wasn't for my father's death, I wouldn't have been contesting. For me, getting elected is not the problem, it is how to serve the people like my father did."
Unlike Udayanraje, Shivendraraje began taking an active interest in politics from an early age. The cousins have often clashed in elections for sugar cooperative factories.
About the affection showered on him by the people, he said, "Sometimes you feel happy and sometime you are scared. Scared because there are so many expectations from you."
