'I don't believe politicians'
NAMES: Priya and Rajesh, Bangalore

R Priya, 25, works for Wipro in Bangalore but is on her way to Mumbai for a trip.

She has never voted.

"I don't believe politicians. I don't have much knowledge of politics."

She believes India is shining. "The economy is upbeat. We see youngsters getting good opportunities. Indians have achieved a lot in India and abroad. The main issue for the new government is the water shortage.

She has quite a few thoughts on what needs to be improved in her hometown Bangalore. "The unplanned flyovers in Bangalore are a pain. The government spoils roads regularly -- they dig all the time."

"I am not going to vote. I don't think only politicians can do everything for the country. Every individual can do something for the country.

Priya is married to Rajesh Thimappa, 29. He works for Intel. He has voted once for the BJP, but is not sure why he voted for them in the first place.

He feels that Vajpayee provides good leadership. "We have done very well in the past five years. India is shining. We are recognized globally. The economy is [looking] up. But the rural areas are neglected. There is no infrastructure there. But if we have better relations with our neighbors, our money can be released for development otherwise it would go to our defense services."
