Yashodhara Raje Scindia is crossing the dates on her calendar. Thirteen days before her constituency goes to the polls, the legislator, seeking a second term in the Madhya Pradesh assembly, says she is like a schoolgirl striking dates in her notebook waiting for the exams to be over.

"I am allergic to anything to do with netagiri -- flowers, kumkum, dust. My eyes start watering and nose starts running," she laughs, brushing the marigold petals from her head.

Armed with allergy pills that work wonders for her instantly, she has spent the better part of the month on the road, criss-crossing between towns and villages telling people about the work done during her tenure.

"I have not come seeking votes, I am here to seek your blessings," she tells those assembled to hear the youngest of the Scindia siblings in Shivpuri, the electoral borough she represents in the state legislature.

Amazed at how representatives have the gall to go back to voters without doing anything for them, 'Yasho' -- nine time MP Gwalior Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia's youngest daughter -- is determined to make history.

"What have we done in 50 years! Look at the abject poverty, there are no roads. We have to bring development to the people. I may sound like Mother Teresa but there is no greater pleasure than to make someone smile."
