Congress legislative party leader Virbhadra Singh has been invited to form the government in Himachal Pradesh and he will be sworn in on Thursday.
He arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday to meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi and discuss the Cabinet formation.
A state government release quoting Singh said there would be a two-tier ministry and some of the ministers would be sworn in along with him.
The ministry would be expanded after the budget session, he said, adding that all sections would be given representation in the ministry.
On the corruption charges against the former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Singh said that all the cases would be fully investigated.
