Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Friday said the fifth Left Front ministry would assume office next week after completing necessary formalities and a series of meetings.
Mr Sarkar, elected from the Dhanpur constituency for the second time in a row defeating his nearest Congress rival Dipak Chakraborty by a margin of over 4,000 votes, said he was leaving Agartala on Sunday to attend the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee and Politburo meeting in New Delhi.
On his return, the CPI (M) state committee and the Left Front committee would meet in Agartala to finalise the swearing-in ceremony and the strength of the fifth Left Front Ministry, Mr Sarkar added.
The CPI (M) would also review its performance, success and failure in the February 26 assembly elections, Mr Sarkar said, adding the unholy nexus between the Congress and underground militants was defeated in the elections.
