Uttaranchal: BJP leading in 31 seats; Nityanand Swami trailing

Election 2002

The Bharatiya Janata Party was leading in 30 seats in Uttaranchal, while the Congress was leading in 18 after counting trends were available for 63 of the 70 constituencies.

Former chief minister Nityanand Swami, who was contesting from Luxman Chowk, was trailing.
