Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday submitted his resignation to Governor Lt Gen J F R Jacob after the results of the assembly elections gave the Congress a clear majority.
The governor accepted the resignation and asked Badal to continue in the post till the new government assumes charge, a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.
