Security stepped up in Kutch

The security forces have stepped up vigilance along the Indo-Pak border in Kutch district of Gujarat, anticipating Inter-Services Intelligence attempts to sneak in subversive elements, arms and ammunition into the country in view of the elections.

Addressing the media yesterday, Superintendent of Police A K Singh quoted an intelligence report and maintained that the ISI or other anti-national elements could infiltrate in Gujarat through the Kutch border, taking advantage of the situation.

He said the police and other agencies were, however, determined to foil any such designs of such elements and all precautionary measures had already been taken in this connection.
