RPI (Athawale) releases its final listThe Republican Party of India faction headed by Ramdas Athawale today announced its final list of candidates for the forthcoming polls in Maharashtra. While the RPI will contest three Lok Sabha seats, it has fielded 26 candidates for the assembly election. The RPI-A, which fought the last Lok Sabha election in alliance with the Congress, has aligned with Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party this time. Other parties that have aligned with Sharad Pawar's breakaway group are: the Samajwadi Party, the Janata Dal (secular) and the Swatantra Bharat Party led by Shetkari Sanghatana leader Sharad Joshi. Athawale himself is contesting the Pandharpur Lok Sabha constituency, while Prof Ashok Godghate has been fielded from Nagpur and Advocate B C Kamble is the candidate in Bombay North-Central, from where the Shiv Sena has fielded former chief minister Manohar Joshi. The list of RPI-A candidates contesting the assembly election is as follows: Vinayak Mithabaokar (Deogad), Manohar Jadhav (Dapoli), Jamadar Masood Mohammad (Mumbadevi), Chandrakant Kamble (Naigaon), M Y Shinde (Dharavi), Javed Nasrualla Khan (Santacruz), D M Gaikwad (Borivli), Chandrakant Handore (Chembur), Prahlad Jadhav (Kalyan), Rajendra Ahire (Nandgaon), Ramesh Makasare (Chalisgaon), B R Sirsat (Murtizapur), Ramprabhu Sonane (Washim), Anil Gondane (Walgaon), Dharamkumar Patil (Nagpur North), Padma Meshram (Lakhandur), Vijay Mogare (Chandrapur), Vijay Aaglave (Hingatghat), Sudhakar Tayade (Darwha), Yashpal Sarvade (Kallamb), Raja Sadavarde (North Solapur), Janardan Yadav (Karjat), Md Shewale (Parwati), Shivraj Tupe (Man), Sanjay Kamble (Jat) and Datta Jadhav (Vadgaon).
