Comments: ODI Team The choice is probably between Shoaib and Ashish Nehra. Indian Batting is more dominant than Pakistan's batting, hence with the exception of yuhana, everyone else is Indian. Sehwag is a mystery element, so I would rather go with Saurav, as opener. Wasim and Zaheer would be a better option to open, than shoaib, since despite his big mouth and chucking arm, he is better off at later half of the 15 over stage. Harbhajan over Saqlain is more to do with success against aussies and form.

Comments: Post your commenSaurav Ganguly, is a mediocre batsman. In my personal opinion he is highly overrated. Virendra Sehwag, again taleneted but lacks reliability. Yuvraj and Kaif are a lot better players with enormous talent. Good bowlong attack, two great fast bowlers, Wasim and Shoaib, two great spin bowlers, Saqlain and Harbhajan and good support bowlers like Zaheer, Sachin, Afridi. This bowling attack can survuve any onslaught as you got good mix n match goin here. Battinh what can i say. Afridi can take on from the word go. Sachin wil easily pace the innings. Even if the top batsman fails, Yuvraj and Inzy would consolidate and them you got the ever reliable Dravid and a good hitters late in the game with Kaif and Akram.

Comments: Well overall just a couple of changes. -Youhana seems to be a better prospect than Inzamam.No one is doubting Inzamam's ability but I guess he is short in confidence.ALso over the past 2 yrs Youhana has been pakistan's most consisitent batsmen.He is in the Javed Miandad mode where for starters he can rotate the strike and then go for the big shots. -Also I would swap Yuvraj and Dravid's batting positions.Dravid plays his best cricket when he is under pressure and no 5 is ideal spot for him.He also gets and oppurtunity to build a innings while he can guide Yuvraj at no. 6. ALso the left-right combination is maintained in the middle order. Youhana -Ganguly -Dravid -Yuvraj -No. 7 would be Razzag rather than Afridi.Afridi struggles on pitches outside the subcontinent and his spin bowling would also not be useful.Razzag on the other hand prefers these pitches and his style of bowling is suited to these pitches.

Comments: if Srinath is fully fit, he will be a handful. he has been successful against the Australians in the past in ODIs. I do not have Inzy in my team because he is well over the hill. Add to that his atrocious running between the wickets. Forget his past records, etc., etc. i have Mohammed Kaif coming in at number six. He is definitely a future Indian captain. He loves a challenge. And he, together with Yuvi, will make the Aussies think twice before they attempt that third run. In my team (unlike the Aussie team) the batting goes down upto Harbhajan. Aussies have some real pretenders such as Ian Harvey parading as genuine allrounders. And remember, we have only one player who is over 33. We will thrash them. Comments: Honestly I would prefer a better opener than Sehwag, but given the choices he seems to be the one better than the rest other than Sachin. I think Inzamam is currently out of form not finding a place even in the Pak team and Saurav's nick with the bat hasn't been that great against incisive bowling. Rahul can be the anchor @ #3, provided he is relieved of his wk job which Rashid will take care of now. Yousuf is a great middle order batsman and Yuvraj following him can deliver a few punches when the ball gets old. I don't know of a better batsman at #6 than Azhar who bolsters his inclusion with his bowling giving the team the allrounder choice. Wasim is like Sachin in bowling. No questions. He has to be there. Zaheer and Srinath support Wasim very well. Shoaib doesn't look like a thinking bowler. He is a speed machine, but I cannot agree that he is a genuine pace bowler. Could have picked Nehra instead of Srinath, but having all the 3 pace bowlers left handed seems to pull down his merrit. Finally Murali Karthik's inclusion inlieu of Harbhajan is arguable, but from what I have seen he seems to deliver better than Harbhajan who needs time off for his surgery.

Comments: The opening slot is for them only, no question in that and first down "the wall" should come to stabilize the innings.then yousaf Youhanna (because he is better than inzy now).Then sourav to tame the spinners and slow bowlers, then yuvraj. i think the experienced rashid latif is more suitable for this position as a wicket keeper and he can play big shots also in the end of the innings.in bowlers wasim should guide- the all time great, then he should be paired with shoaib to open the bowling. sheer pace and accuracy will do the trick.the third seamer from(ashish nehra, Sami, and Zaheer knan) i should go for ashish only. in hard pitches he can get much seam movement and have variations than the rest. for the spinner slot two peoples are there (saqlain and harbhajan), definetly i will go for harbhajan only as saqlain is not in good form. thats it hope a team like this come and rules the cricket world

Comments: If one wants to beat Australia you must have five bowlers who can put pressure on them at all times. Sehwag has shown that he still has a lot of work to do before he can be on this team. Anwar would provide the steadying influence at the top & give confidence to Sachin to go for his shots. Youhana is a slightly better player than Inzamam in my opinion on current form. Moin is a much better WK than Rahul & can hit the lusty blows in the end whereas Rahul will not serve any purpose coming in at No.6 or 7.Afridi is a useless player who has done nothing of note for a long time. would not even be in the pakistani team if he did not have the right contacts! that is a shocking choice by you.

Comments: Sachin and Saurav together form the best opening pair. Record says it...they are better that Haynes and Greenidge. Youhana and Inzi are best at 3 and 4th position. Kaif and Yuvraj has proved many times that they can manage the pace of the innings at positions 5 and 6. Dravid is the keeper and the most reliable batsman. Saqlain, with experience is better that Bajji. Srinath and Wasim are experienced and both are still delivering good performances. Shoaib, though lacks common sense, has great pace.

Comments: I would like sachin and sourav to open, they have been very succesful, i can't find place for sehwag, i want sehwag to pulverize the solg overs. Yousu Youhane and Rahul dravid can steady the innings. Later Sehwag, Yuvraj,moin and akram can slog it out. I was forced to pick sehwag for the 5th bowler, he bowls good off spinners. The bowling attack is the same.

Comments: I think the four mainstay of indian batting line up are more than enough to take on the Gillespies, McGraths and Lees..as shown by brain Lara alone. Comments: I chose Mohammed Kaif instead of Yuvraj since kaif is more reliable,and Abdur Razzaq for Shahid afridi for the same reason, besides Abdur razzaq is a wonderful Medium Pacer.The bowlers are the same although one can change zaheer khan with Ashish Nehra where the Pitch is doing a lot,thats when he becomes absolutely Lethal... Ask England.Trouble with this team is Rahul Dravid and Inzy are fighting for the the same No.3 position.

Razzaq- the perfect all rounder, can stabilise when wickets fall, can accelerate any time. more valuable than afridi. Comments: Saeed Anwar is a good opener and also a left-right combination would work well in the top order. Inzy and Dravid would be the perfect players for middle overs consolidation. Comments: One thing the team lacked is a good wicket keeper. Hence Rashid Latif. Also I think Saeed Anwar is a better choice than Virender Sehwag.
