Mike Hussey scored an unbeaten 65 and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni cashed in on a dropped chance as Chennai Super Kings put up 169 for 4 against Delhi Daredevils in the Pepsi Indian Premier League in Delhi on Thursday.

The pair went on a run-spree after the dismissal of opener Murali Vijay, who was dismissed lbw by Morne Morkel for 18.

Hussey carried his bat through the innings with a well-crafted 50-ball 66, which was laced with six fours and
two sixes.

Suresh Raina scored a 32-ball 30 that was laced with five fours before Irfan Pathan had him caught by wicket-keeper
Kedhar Jadhav.

Looking to smack one over the off side, Raina reached for a wide delivery but could only edge it to wicketkeeper Jadhav.

Pathan had sent down a short delivery earlier in the over, which Raina pulled behind square on the leg side for a four. 

Dhoni made the most of a 'life' after being dropped by Ajit Agarkar at long-off off Umesh Yadav to score 44 off 23 balls.

He and Hussey put together a 50-run partnership for the third wicket off just 27 balls as the overs between
13 and 18 yielded 56 runs for Chennai.

Mike Hussey was harsh on all the Delhi bowlers as he finished unbeaten with 65 off 50. His knock included two sixes and six fours.

Delhi Daredevils lost an early wicket when David Warner was bowled off an inside edge for one in the second over of the innings.

He tried to drive debutant Mohit Sharma through the off-side but ended up dragging it back on to his stumps.

Haryana pacer Mohit had a dream debut as he bagged two wickets in his opening over.

Manprit Juneja was trapped leg before wicket for two as Delhi slipped to 13 for two after two overs.

Delhi captain Mahela Jayawardene failed to inspire his team with the bat as he perished cheaply.

Jayawardene, who made six, was lucky to survive after he was caught behind off Chris Morris as umpire Vineet Kulkarni turned down the appeal but he fell in the same over when he was dismissed leg before wicket.

Virender Sehwag, who has struggled with injuries, had another failure with the bat.

He made 17 from 12 balls before he holed out to deep midwicket to give Mohit his third wicket of the innings.

The debutant pacer finished with splendid figures of three for 10 in three overs.

Kedar Jadhav top scored with a fluent 31 from 28 balls but the Delhi batting failed yet again.

Jeevan Mendis made 12 before he was run out after a misunderstanding with Jadhav.

Delhi were eventually bundled out for 83 to crash to their sixth straight defeat in the tournament.
