Rain played spoilsport in the ICC Champions Trophy league match between Australia and New Zealand in Birmingham on Wednesday. Both teams got a point each after from the abandoned Group A game, which was halted with New Zealand, replying to Australia's competitive 243 for eight in 50 overs, were struggling at 51 for two after 15.
Having lost their opening match to England, the solitary point from the match did little to help Australia's chances of making the semi-finals.
