Former South African batsman HD Ackerman has said that the team's familiarity with the Indian bowlers due to their exposure to the Indian Premier League (IPL) may be an advantage for them in the semi-final of the World Twenty20 on Friday.
Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Faf du Plessis, Albie Morkel, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, and David Miller all have a wealth of IPL experience.
According to Sport24, Ackerman said that the left-right combinations fielded by South Africa could be an important factor in neutralising Indian spinners Amit Mishra, Ravichandra Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in what may turn out to be a spin-friendly Dhaka wicket.

Ackerman also said that the South African batsmen need to ensure that they smash Jadeja and Mishra in the match and clear the field, adding that it is one of the reasons for Imran Tahir's success is that batsmen went after him and paid the price.
Ackerman further said that it is important that South Africa post a very competitive score as the Indian batting order is ''dynamite'' and their strongest suit, adding that he feels the South African selectors should not change the batting order.
