Video: Dhoni slams Umpire Decision Review System

Last updated on: February 28, 2011 15:45 IST

India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni lashed out at the Umpire Decision Review System after the thrilling tie against England in the Group B World Cup match at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore on Sunday.

The match ended in a tie after England, set 339 for victory, almost chased down the total, only to finish at 338, the same as India's total.

"Well, adulteration is quite bad, whether it is natural or technological. I think the adulteration of the technology with the human thinking that was the reason why we didn't get that wicket. I hope next time it will be technology or human intentions," Dhoni said.

Bell was adjudged not out by on-field umpire Billy Bowden as well as the third umpire despite TV replays clearly showing the ball hitting the stumps.

When Yuvraj Singh struck Bell on the pads with the final ball of the 26th over, Bell was on 17. He later went on to score 69, thanks partly to the DRS that went in his favour.

Check out the video for Dhoni's reaction to the UDRS, which has been implemented by the International Cricket Council for matches in the 2011 World Cup with a view to reducing umpiring errors.
