West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presented one of her paintings to Sachin Tendulkar even as the Eden Gardens crowd gave the legendary batsman a standing ovation at the end of the first Test against the West Indies -- his 199th and penultimate -- in Kolkata on Friday.

As a farewell tribute, Banerjee gifted him a painting of a tree, an artwork that has her trademark brush-strokes.

A maverick painter, the Trinamool Congress supremo has created more than 200 paintings and held three exhibitions.

Banerjee also presented Tendulkar a turban, which former India captain Sourav Ganguly put on the iconic batsman's head.

The CAB had earlier announced that 199kg of rose petals would be showered on Tendulkar on the last day of the game with the help of small aircraft flying over the grounds, but had to cancel the event as the match ended in three days, the home side winning by an innings and 51 runs.
