Bowling in India is a different challenge: Bresnan

England pacer Tim Bresnan says his team's bowlers may have dominated India when they toured there in July, but it will be an altogether different challenge to contain them in their own backyard when the two sides face off in a five-match ODI series, starting October 14.

"It's a fresh start and a new challenge for us. We are going into this series with exactly the same mentality with which we won [in England recently]," Bresnan said on Wednesday.

"We are still looking to improve, and looking forward to the challenge of playing [against] India in India," he added.

Bresnan, who was impressive with his precise bouncers against Indian batsmen in England's 4-0 Test triumph, said he is looking forward to the tough challenge.

"It's obviously different [bowling] in England than in India. In England you may gather some seam when the ball is new. With wickets playing different here [in India], I view it as a challenge," he said.

"For a bowler with the new ball, we have to bowl very tightly. We have to bowl very accurately and very straight, otherwise you will [be hit] for runs," he said.

Bresnan, who will be spearheading the English pace attack in the absence of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, said, "We have young bowlers who have a lot of talent. If we start [bowl] well, we can pick up early wickets."

'We need to overcome the opposition'

Asked to pick one particular Indian batsman he wants to dismiss, the 26-year-old said he would like to get all of them.

Despite the absence of top Indian batsmen, like Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, in the upcoming series, Bresnan said, "It does not matter who we are playing. The challenge [for us] is that we need to overcome the opposition."

"We have got top class batters and we are looking forward to the challenge of chasing down. I have something to contribute when it comes to my batting," he added.
