Indian cricket captain Mahindra Singh Dhoni and his teammate Suresh Raina, on a trip to seek the blessings Mata Vaishnodevi ahead of the World Cup, on Sunday could not make it to the cave shrine due to bad weather.

Dhoni, his wife Sakshi and Raina flew in a chopper to Trikuta hills housing the cave shrine but it failed to land at Sanjichat helipad due to bad weather conditions and clouds, official sources said in Jammu.

They later flew to Udhampur to stay with Northern Command's Army formation for the night, the sources said adding that they will again try to fly to the cave shrine on Monday for having darshan of the Mata ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup which is commencing on February 19.

They had come in a commercial flight to Jammu and flew in a private chopper to Sanjichat.

The shrine is situated at a height of 5200 feet in the Trikuta hills in Katra tehsil of Reasi district, 57 kms from Jammu.
