Statistical highlights of the Group B World Cup match between India and South Africa in Nagpur on Saturday.

# Jacques Kallis, during his 69 off 88 balls, has completed his 1,000 runs at the World Cup, aggregating 1013 at an average of 46.04, including one century and eight fifties. He is the second South African batsman after Herschelle Gibbs (1067 at an average of 56.15 in 25 matches) to achieve the feat.

# Kallis his posted his eleventh fifty against India -- his 81st fifty in ODIs.

# Kallis became the first South African to complete 1500 runs against India in ODIs, aggregating 1515 at an average of 65.86, including two centuries and eleven fifties, in 35 matches.

# Kallis and Amla were involved in a stand of 86 for the second wicket -- South Africa's best against India at the World Cup.

# AB de Villiers became the first South African and the third to complete 300 runs or more in the 2011 World Cup, aggregating 318 at an average of 106 in four games, including two centuries and one fifty.

# De Villiers has posted his 26th fifty in ODIs – his third against India.

# Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to register six hundreds at the World Cup -- one each against England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Namibia and two against Kenya.

# Tendulkar has recorded two hundreds against Test playing nations for the first time in a single edition of the World Cup -- 120 against England at Bangalore on February 27 and 111 against South Africa at Nagpur on March 12. He had first posted two World Cup hundreds in 1995-96 -- one each against Kenya (127 not out at Cuttack on February 18, 1996) and Sri Lanka (137 at Delhi on March 2, 1996).

Sachin Tendulkar# With his brilliant 48th ODI hundred, Tendulkar has become the first batsman to post 20 centuries at home.

# Harbhajan Singh (3/53) has recorded his best bowling performance at the World Cup, obliterating the two for 28 against New Zealand at Centurion on March 14, 2003.

# Harbhajan has completed his 250 wickets in ODIs, capturing 251 at an average of 33.33 in 222 matches. He has become the sixth Indian bowler to accomplish the feat, joining Anil Kumble (337), Javagal Srinath (315), Ajit Agarkar (288), Kapil Dev (253) and Zaheer Khan (264).

# India have lost all three games to South Africa at the World Cup -- by 6 wickets at Adelaide on March 15, 1992, by 4 wickets at Hove on May 15, 1999 and by 3 wickets at Jamtha on March 12, 2011.

# Except South Africa, India have beaten each country atleast once at the World Cup.

# India have won 35 and lost 26 out of 63 played -- winning per centage 57.25 (NR 1 and Tied 1).

# South Africa have won 40 and lost 24 out of 66 contested against India. (NR 2) -- SA's success percentage 62.50.

# South Africa have won 28 and lost 14 out of 44 contested at the World Cup -- success percentage 65.90 (Tied 2).

# South Africa (300 for seven) have recorded their highest successful chase at the World Cup -- their first total of 300-plus at the World Cup in a successful chase.

# South Africa's previous highest while chasing successfully was 254 for six against India at Hove on May 15, 1999.

# South Africa's 300 for seven is the fourth highest successful chase in the history of the World Cup -- the highest three being 329 for seven by Ireland against England at Bangalore on March 2, 2011, 313 for 7 by Sri Lanka against Zimbabwe at New Plymouth on February 23, 1992 and England's 301 for nine against West Indies at Bridgetown on April 21, 2007.

# Sachin took 92 balls to reach his century -- the second quickest hundred registered by him at the World Cup -- his quickest being the 84-ball hundred against Kenya at Bristol on May 23, 1999.

# Virender Sehwag (73 off 66 balls) became the first batsman to complete 300 runs at the 2011 World Cup, aggregating 327 at an average of 65.40 in five games, including one century and one fifty.

# Zaheer Khan has taken his wicket-aggregate to 21 at 20.14 runs apiece in 10 games -- the most by a bowler in ODIs in 2011.

# Robin Peterson's unbeaten 18 off seven balls is his highest innings at the World Cup.

# Dale Steyn became the sixth South African bowler to capture five wickets in an innings at the World Cup, joining Andrew Hall (against England), Lance Klusener (against Kenya), Shaun Pollock (against Australia), Charles Langeveldt (against Sri Lanka) and Andre Nel (against Bangladesh).

# Steyn's first ever MOM award at the World Cup is his second in ODIs.

# Dale Steyn (5/50) has produced his career-best bowling performance in ODIs -- his first instance of five wickets in an innings.

# Steyn became the first South African bowler to claim five wickets in an innings in India in the World Cup apart from becoming the first South African bowler to bag five wickets against India at the World Cup.

# Steyn's brilliant performance is the third best by a South African bowler on Indian soil, joining Makhaya Ntini's five for 21 against Pakistan at Mohali on October 27, 2006 and Allan Donald's 5 for 29 against India at Kolkata on November 10, 1991.

# India (296) have recorded their highest total against South Africa at the World Cup, eclipsing the 253 for five at Hove on May 15, 1999.

# India have lost their last nine wickets for 29 runs -- 267 for nine to 296 all out - the worst ever collapse suffered by a Test nation at the World Cup.

# In the mandatory batting powerplay, the Indians recorded 87 without losing a wicket -- the highest in the 2011 edition of the World Cup, eclipsing their score of 82 for three against Netherlands at Delhi on March 9, 2011.

# The Indians recorded 100 off 11.4 overs -- the fastest team hundred of the 2011 World Cup.

# Four Indian batsmen earned a dubious distinction of registering ducks -- the first such instance for India in a World Cup innings.

# Gautam Gambhir (69 off 75 balls) has recorded his highest innings at the World Cup, bettering the 51 against England at Bangalore on February 27, 2011.

# Gambhir has recorded his second fifty at the World Cup -- his 23rd in ODIs.

# Gambhir's aforesaid innings is his first fifty against South Africa, eclipsing the 38 at Bangalore on November 19, 2005.

# Sachin became the first batsman to complete 2,000 runs against South Africa in ODIs, amassing 2001 at an average of 35.73 in 57 matches. With his 99th hundred in international cricket, Sachin became the first batsman to register five hundreds against South Africa in ODIs.

# Sachin also became the first player to aggregate 2,000 runs or more against four nations - Australia (3005), Sri Lanka (2965), Pakistan (2389) and South Africa (2001).

# With three sixes against South Africa, Sachin has set a record for most sixes by an Indian in ODIs, taking his sixes' tally to 193, bettering Sourav Ganguly's tally of 190.

# Sachin (324 at an average of 64.80) is the second batsman after Virender Sehwag to complete 300 runs in the present edition of the World Cup.

# Sehwag and Tendulkar, with their 142-run partnership, hold a first wicket partnership record for India against South Africa at the World Cup. The said stand is the highest for India for any wicket against South Africa at the World Cup, surpassing the 130 for the second wicket at Hove on May 15, 1999.

# Sehwag has posted his third fifty at the World Cup -- his 37th in ODIs and the third against South Africa.

# The 142-run stand is the highest by any pair against South Africa for the first wicket at the World Cup, eclipsing the 114 between Mark Greatbatch and Rod Latham for New Zealand at Auckland on February 29, 1992.

# Sachin, with century stands for the first and second wicket, has established another record. He now shares twelve stands of 100 or more at the World Cup, bettering Ricky Ponting's tally of ten century stands.
