Although Shahid Afridi (with a MVPI of 790) is still the most valuable player (MVP) of World Cup 2011, his time is up. With one more match to play, both Tillakaratne Dilshan (747) and Yuvraj Singh (694) are likely to overtake him.

The most valuable player index (MVPI) is calculated by adding together a player's batting, bowling and fielding index. The batting index is based on a combination of runs scored and strike rate; the bowling index uses a combination of the number of wickets taken and the economy rate; and the fielding index is based on the number of catches taken and the fielder's participation in run-out dismissals.
Dilshan (467) and Tendulkar (464) are in the race to earn this World Cup's 'orange cap' for most runs, although Sangakkara (417), Tharanga (393) and Sehwag (380) are also in the fray.
Zaheer Khan (19) has the best opportunity to challenge Shahid Afridi (21) for the World Cup's 'purple cap' for most wickets. Muralitharan (15) and Yuvraj Singh (13) are unlikely to challenge Afridi or Zaheer.
