The West Indian cricketers took to the field wearing black armbands in the second Test against India on Monday as tribute to the victims of an accident in St Lucia where a minibus plunged off a cliff into the ocean killing 17 people.

Describing this as the most tragic incident in the island's history, West Indies captain Darren Sammy had on Sunday said, "I would like to express my sincere condolences to my community Dugard... My heart goes out to the community and families in this tragic time."

Down 0-1 in the three-Test series after their five-wicket loss in the opening Test, Sammy said he was pained to hear the Thursday night accident in the southwest village of Choiseul that shocked the island of approximately 160,000 people.
