Having impressed as a fill-in seamer on the recent tour of the West Indies, young fast bowler Vikram Rajvir Singh is hoping his place in Team India will become a permanent one in the days to come.

"It was great to be a part of the team that won a series in the West Indies for the first time in 35 years. I played a small role in that. Hopefully, I will become a regular player and make major contributions in the future," VRV said on returning from the Caribbeans, in Delhi on Friday.

VRV was accompanied by Suresh Raina.

The 21-year old Chandigarh lad was a surprise inclusion in the Test squad, ahead of the seasoned Ajit Agarkar, who was also the best bowler in the preceding one-day series.

The right-arm seamer made his debut in the first Test at Antigua, where Irfan Pathan was 'rested' and played another Test at St. Lucia. His return of two for 159 at 79.00 was nothing to crow. But the youngster received positive reviews from former West Indies pace bowlers for his accuracy and control.

Touted as the fastest bowler in the domestic cricket, VRV also showed maturity in sacrificing a yard or two of pace and focusing on line and length while bowling on slow and low tracks in energy sapping conditions.
