India elect to field against Ireland

India captain Rahul Dravid won the toss and elected to field in their one-off one-day international match against Ireland in Belfast on Saturday.

India are without injured wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni and paceman Zaheer Khan.

Mumbai youngster Rohit Sharma was handed his international debut.

India opted to play pace bowlers in S Sreesanth, R P Singh and Ajit Agarkar, while Piyush Chawla was preferred as the lone spinner ahead of Ramesh Powar. Dinesh Karthik will don the gloves in Dhoni's absence.
