The pitch at the Vidarbha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur offered turn and the left-arm Kiwi spinner exploited the conditions superbly to make life difficult for the Indian batsmen.
Chasing an innocuous 127, India collapsed for a paltry 79.

England vs Sri Lanka, March 26, Delhi
The performance gave England something to cheer about, six years after their victorious campaign in the 2010 World T20 championship.
In a must win game against Sri Lanka, England were pushed on the brink of exit by rival skipper Angelo Mathews, playing one of the best innings of his life.
Then stepped up Chris Jordan. The fast bowler produced a disciplined performance, rarely seen from English players in limited overs cricket.
Jordan's pace and accurate yorkers put the brakes on Sri Lanka and led English fans to believe the team can become the first to win two World T20 titles.
James Faulkner: 5/27
Australia vs Pakistan, March 25, Mohali
James Faulkner became the first Australian to pick five wickets in a T20 game and ensured a comfortable win over Pakistan.
After dismissing the dangerous Sharjeel Khan, Faulkner took four wickets from his last six deliveries to send Pakistan crashing.
In the next game, Virat Kohli plundered 19 runs off Faulkner's 18th over to oust the Aussies from the championships.

South Africa vs Afghanistan, March 20, Mumbai
Chasing a mammoth 210 runs for a famous victory, Afghanistan's batsmen startled Faf du Plessis and his boys.
Only Morris stood between the Pathans and triumph, dismissing Mohammad Shahzad, who had blasted his way to a 19-ball 44.
Adam Zampa: 3/23
Australia vs Bangladesh, Bengaluru, March 21
Australia have one positive to take home from India.
Leg-spinner Adam Zampa was the Aussies' find-of-the-tournament. The 23 year old showed what he is capable of against Bangladesh, whose batsmen are regarded as decent players of spin.
Zampa dismissed opener Mohammad Mithun, Shakib Al Hasan and Shuvagata Hom to restrict Bangladesh to a modest 156, which Australia chased down with three wickets in hand.
Intriguingly, Zampa bowled only two overs against the Indians in Mohali, and his skipper Steve Smith has come under some fire from folks back home for that.
