Pranav Dhanawade had another moment to cherish after scoring a record-breaking 1009 when batting great Sachin Tendulkar gifted the Mumbai schoolboy his autographed bat.
"Master Blaster @sachin_rt gifts his own autographed bat to #PranavDhanawade for his record breaking innings," the Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed Tendulkar's gesture in a tweet.
Tendulkar was quick to congratulate 15-year-old Dhanawade on his mind-boggling knock of 1009 in a school game on Tuesday.
"Congrats #PranavDhanawade on being the first ever to score 1000 runs in an innings. Well done and work hard. You need to scale new peaks!" Tendulkar had tweeted on Tuesday.
Dhanawade, playing for KC Gandhi Higher Secondary School, reached the gigantic score of 1000 in just 323 deliveries with a jaw-dropping strike rate of 312.38 in the game against Arya Gurukul in the Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
During the 396 minutes he was at the crease he faced 327 balls and hit 129 fours and 59 sixes.
He bettered the best-ever individual score in a single day when he went past Prithvi Shaw's 546 in the Harris Shield tournament in 2013-14.
