After becoming the first sportsperson to be conferred the Bharat Ratna, Sachin Tendulkar dedicated the country's highest civilian honour to his mother, Rajni.
In a fitting finale to a glorious career, the batting maestro was, on Saturday, chosen for the prestigious award, and, reportedly, he dedicated the honour to his mother.
The 40-year-old icon, who called time on his glittering international career earlier in the day, was chosen for the top award soon after India beat the West Indies by an innings and 126 runs in the second Test at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
Tendulkar's mother was also in attendance as he brought down the curtains on his glorious cricketing career spanning over two decades.
