Following the smashing victory by the West Indies' men's and women's teams in the World Twenty20, and the Under-19 50-overs' World Cup in February, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar called upon the West Indies Cricket Board to supports their teams and address the players' concerns.
"WI players emerged true champions overcoming challenges on & off the field. West Indian Board should support them & address their concerns," Sachin tweeted after Sunday's final against England in Kolkata.

The West Indies pulled off a sensational run-chase, thumping England by four wickets, in front of an electric crowd at the Eden Gardens to become the first team to win the World Twenty20 title twice.
Post the nail-biting victory, an emotional Darren Sammy slammed the West Indies Cricket Board, branding its attitude as "disappointing".
"People were wondering whether we would play this tournament; we had issues with the board, Mark Nicholas called us 'players with no brain'. But all of us came together; these 15 men put adversity aside and played this type of cricket in front of such passionate fans. It was tremendous. I want to thank the coaching team, Phil Simmons," said Sammy, at the post-match presentation ceremony.
Echoing similar sentiments, Dwayne Bravo said he along with some other players were being shunned from the 50-over squad by the Board and the country's cricket is 'not in right hands'.
West Indies cricket is swarmed with controversies, which range from politics to bankruptcy, and it has often affected the team's tours and series.
However, the country's performance in the WorldT20 format across is bound to make a difference to the state of cricket in the nation.
