Sachin Tendulkar scored his third hundred to steer celebrity side Lashings Cricket Club to a 26-run victory over a Taunton School Invitation XI.

The Indian batsman's 101, after which he chose to retire, helped Lashings World XI put on 223 for three in 30 overs.

Former Sri Lanka captain Aravinda de Silva also thrived, scoring an unbeaten 101, in the match at Somerset on Tuesday.

In reply, Taunton School Invitation XI could make 197 for 9 in 30 overs.

Joe Cooper top-scored with 52 while Simon Manley scored 42.

Clare Connor (5/36) and Chris Harris (2/26) took the wickets for Lashings.

Tendulkar, seeking a comeback to international cricket following shoulder surgery in March, signed up with the Kent-based club for a short stint in order to test his fitness in match situations. He scored 155, 147 and 98 in the three previous matches.
