SRK-owned Trinidad Red Steel win Caribbean T20 League

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is on cloud 9. His recent acquisition, Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel, won the Caribbean Premier League T20 title on Sunday.

Chasing 179 for victory, Barbados fell 20 runs short.

Opener Dwayne Smith (40 off 30) was out in the tenth over and, thereafter, none of the other batsmen could take the team across the finish line.

Left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn was the pick of the Trinidad bowlers, finishing with figures of 2 for 24.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently in Bulgaria shooting for Rohit Shetty's film Dilwale couldn't contain his excitement.

"There's no place I'd rather be than dancing with T&T. True and unbridled happiness. The trophy is beautiful," he tweeted.

“Yo Mann let's start the dance my man Bravo....Bravo Bravo Bravo and what to go Delport Suleiman and Akmal. I am dancing...!!!! I Wish I was there. I am dancing alone in my hotel room, but what the hell bring on the beat...V R THE CHAMPS. T&T & KKR...u can't touch this!

Please somebody post me the picture of the Cup!!! Three babies...I was one short...phew!! Now I have a cup for each one of them!”

He also posted a picture of himself and tweeted, “If I smiled any more I will come apart at the seams. Happy beyond happy...”

SRK's company, Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, along with KKR co-owners Juhi Chawla and her husband, Jay Mehta, together invested in the Trinidad & Tobago franchise last month.

Khan is the first owner of an Indian Premier League team to have stake in an overseas cricket franchise.
