South Africa's Alberton Cricket Club Under-17 were beaten by 130 runs by DAV College Centre of Cricket Excellence in their second match at the DAV College ground in Sector 10 Chandigarh on Friday.

The DAVCCCE won the toss and elected to bat. They posted 257 for six in their allotted 40 overs. Openers Rakesh Yadav (81, 10x4s, 1x6) and Sumit (76, 13x4s) scored 151 before the former was run-out.

Mark Lee (2 for 46) and Reyneke Wihan (2 for 37) were the most successful bowlers for the South African team.

In reply, the South Africa lads were dismissed for 126 in 30.1 overs.

After a bad start, the South African side kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

Suyash Kumar was the star bowler for the DAVCCCE side, picking three wickets for just 26 runs. He was well-supported by Sumit and Yuvraj Annand, who picked three wickets each for 29 and 19 runs, respectively.

Potgieter Jundre was the top scorer for the South African side with 38 runs. He hit five fours and one six.

Radford Garreth (24) and Rayneke Wihan (21) were the other visitors batsmen who could reach the double figure mark.

The visitors play St John's High School on Saturday.
