 Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar turns 42 today.

India's batting legend may have retired from the game just over 16 months ago (at the conclusion of the 2013 India-West Indies Test series) but cricket continues to be his passion.

The highest run-getter in international cricket is still active in the game, playing mentor to Indian Premier League franchise Mumbai Indians.

Post-retirement, he also showed interest in Indian football and bought a stake in Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters.

Tendulkar, whose autobiography Playing It My Way was released to tremendous response last November, was the Brand Ambassador of the recently-held ICC World Cup in the Antipodes in February-March.

On Thursday, the 'Master Blaster', who was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in April 2012, made a rare appearance in Parliament.

He will be in Mumbai on Friday to celebrate his birthday, a day before Mumbai Indians' next home game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede Stadium.

Join us in wishing the cricketing maestro good health, happiness and the best for the year ahead.
