The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday released Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Stuart Binny from the Indian Test squad to play for their respective states in the next round of Ranji Trophy.

The three players were not picked in the playing eleven for the ongoing first Test match against South Africa at the Punjab Cricket Association in Mohali, which started on Thursday, and were asked to play in the next round of Ranji Trophy matches starting on November 7 to get some match practice ahead of the second Test match, starting in Bangalore on November 14.

"The players will rejoin the Indian Test team before the start of the Second Test of the Paytm Freedom Trophy in Bangalore," BCCI said in a media release.

The in-form Rohit's inclusion should be a good boost for Mumbai, who are top of Group B with 17 points from four matches, in a high-voltage clash Uttar Pradesh, which will feature pacer Bhuvneshwar. Left-hander Suresh Raina, who was not picked for the Test matches, will also be a part of the UP team.

All-rounder Stuart Binny will join Ranji Trophy champions Karnataka, who take on Odisha. However, his state team mate K L Rahul, would stay back in Mohali as one of the reserves.

Punjab Ranji trophy players, Gurkeerat Singh Mann and Mandeep Singh would also join the Indian team as reserve players during the first Test Match at Mohali.
