Riding on Tushar Deshpande's five-wicket haul, defending champions Mumbai registered a comfortable 10-wicket win over Railways and grabbed six points in their Ranji Trophy Group A match in Mysore on Tuesday.
On the fourth day, Deshpande snapped three wickets -- Faiz Ahmed (28), Ashish Yadav (26) and DN Bansal (3) -- to go with the two wickets he had taken yesterday, while Shardul Thakur, Vijay Gohil and Balwinder Sandhu picked up one wicket each to dismiss Railways for 208 after they resumed their second innings at an overnight total of 135-4 on Tuesday.
With just 24 runs to chase, Mumbai openers AA Hrewadkar (18) and SS Iyer (6) completed the task in just 5 overs without losing any wicket at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground.
Earlier, resuming their second innings at 135/4, Railways lost Nitin Bhille in the 67th over by Thakur. In the 81st over, Faiz Ahmed too was back in the hut when he was caught by Suryakumar Yadav as Railways slipped to 170-6.
Five overs later, Karn Sharma was then cleaned up by Sandhu and in the next over Ashish Yadav too departed after being caught by Kaustubh Pawar. Amit Mishra and Deepak Bansal too was dismissed cheaply after Railways crossed the 200-mark.

Punjab defeat UP by seven wickets, grab 6 points
Riding on Jiwanjot Singh's 82-ball 69-run knock, Punjab notched up a seven-wicket win over Uttar Pradesh to grab six valuable points in Hyderabad.
Chasing 112-run victory target, Punjab resumed their second innings at 61-2 and overnight batsman Jiwanjot produced his 18th first-class fifty, which was studded with 10 boundaries to seal the win.
With two wins in five matches, Punjab are currently placed third in the pool, behind Tamil Nadu.

Pant hits record ton for Delhi, 3 pts for Services
Delhi youngster Rishabh Pant grabbed eyeballs by blazing his way into the record books with a 48-ball century - the quickest by any Indian batsman in first-class cricket - even as Jharkhand secured three points from their Ranji Trophy Group B match.
The 19-year-old Pant, who also struck a century in Delhi's first innings, smashed a staggering 13 sixes and eight boundaries during his knock, which ended at 135 off 67 balls, at the St Xavier's College Ground.
En route his century, Pant eclipsed a 28-year old record set by former Tamil Nadu opener VB Chandrasekhar, who reached the three-figure mark in 56 balls against Rest of India during the Irani Cup match of the 1988-89 series.
Delhi were 480 for six in their second innings when the stumps were drawn on the fourth and final day.
It was Jharkhand, though, who came out of the match with three points to Delhi's one, on the basis of taking the first-innings lead.
Das' 12 wickets guide Assam to stunning win
Fast-medium bowler Arup Das claimed a match haul of 12 wickets as bottom-placed Assam stunned last season's runners-up Saurashtra by nine wickets in their Ranji Trophy group C fixture.
Arup (5/21) and his pace partner Krisha Das (4/27) - both hail from Barpeta - maintained a tidy line and length on a pitch with little assistance for seamers.
Saurashtra put up yet another atrocious batting display to be bundled out for 81 in 39.5 overs in their second innings, their lowest against Assam.
Chasing a paltry 64, Assam lost opener Rahul Hazarika (8) for team's score of 11 but Rishav Das (30 not out) and Sibsankar Roy (24 not out) chased down the target in one hour and 19 minutes after Saurashtra lost wickets in a heap in an extended first session.
Das returned with a match haul of 12/70 to better his 11/124 against Punjab in last season's quarters, and the victory tasted sweeter as it came against a team who had beaten them in the semifinals in 2015-16.

HP secure five-wicket win vs J&K
A collective effort helped Himachal Pradesh climb to second place in group C with a thrilling five-wicket win over Jammu and Kashmir in Ranchi.
Inspired by left-arm spinner Bipul Sharma's 4/97, Himachal Pradesh bundled out Jammu and Kashmir for 417 with an addition of 80 to their overnight total to set a tricky target of 210 from two sessions.
Living up to the challenge under fading lights, Himachal Pradesh batsmen put up a brave front as Ankit Kalsi (47) and Prashant Chopra (43) laid the foundation before Robin Bist (52 not out) and Sumeet Verma (21 not out) steered the chase.

Jakati's all-round effort gives Goa full points
Left-arm spinner Shadab Jakati bagged 4/41 after a fine effort with the bat to help Goa beat Chhattisgarh by eight wickets in Cuttack.
Having scored a stellar 92 at number eight to hand them a first innings lead, Jakati did the damage with the ball along with fellow left-arm spinner Darshan Misal, who returned career-best figures of 3/24 to lead the rout.
Seven of Chhattisgarh batsmen got out for ducks as their second essay folded for 162 in 67.3 overs to set a paltry 91-run target.
Promoted as opener after his patient 97, Samar Dubhashi steered the chase with an unbeaten 41 from 61 balls (8x4) as Goa coasted to 94/2 in 21.4 overs to secure their first win of the season and jump to sixth place with 10 points from five outings.

Services grab 3 points vs Andhra
Vikas Yadav (3/81) and Azaruddin Bloch (5/92) shared eight wickets to help Services dismiss Andhra for 341 and grab a crucial first innings lead of 105 runs in Indore.
