Maharashtra's young cricketer Kishor Bhikane, 25, was on Sunday killed in a road accident while another player Abhilash Lokhande sustained serious injuries, police said.
24-year-old Bhikane, who represents Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy cricket, was riding a two-wheeler while Lokhande was riding pillion.
The incident took place on the Latur-Barshi road this afternoon, the police officials said adding the injured were admitted to a local hospital.
Bhikane was returning after playing a match at Sakhra Pati village near Latur when a truck hit the bike. He died on the spot.
Incidentally, Kishor had won the bike as a prize for the best bowling performance in one of the recently-concluded state level cricket tournament.
