The opening day of India's two-day warm-up match against the Australian Prime Minister's XI at the Manuka Oval was abandoned because of rain, in Canberra, on Saturday.
The two teams agreed to play out a 50-overs contest on the second and final day of the day-night pink ball match on Sunday. The second day's play is scheduled to begin at 2.40pm local time which is 9.10am IST.
"Play has been abandoned for Day 1. Play will resume at 2:40pm tomorrow (Sunday). Coin toss at 2:10pm. Teams have agreed to play 50 overs per side," BCCI said on X.
This is India's first practice match of the tour, having opted not to have any warm-up games before the start of the five-match Border-Gavaskar
India will be hoping for the the weather to improve on Sunday as they look to give captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, both of whom missed the first Test, some much-needed match practice ahead of the second Test, which will be played at Adelaide from December.
The weather forecast is not too encouraging for Sunday with the 70 percent chance of rainfall.
"High chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm in the morning and afternoon, possibly severe," said the weather forecast from the Australian government's Bureau of Meteorology.
