# Jesse Ryder (103 off 205 balls) has recorded his third century in Tests (all three against India). He had posted a career best 201 against India at Napier in March 2009.

# Ryder has batted extremely well against India, aggregating 430 at an average of 71.66, including three centuries.

# Ryder is averaging 50-plus in Tests, aggregating 1001 at an average of 52.68, including three hundreds and four fifties, in 12 matches.

# Ryder's brilliant 103 off 205 balls is his highest innings on foreign soil, eclipsing the 91 against Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2008-09.

# In calendar year 2010, Taylor is averaging 50.42 in seven innings (four Tests), aggregating 353 at a strike rate of 75.26, including one century.

# Kane Williamson's unbeaten 87 off 226 balls is his maiden fifty - the third best by a New Zelandeer on his Test debut against India.

# Bruce Taylor had posted 105 at Kolkata in 1964-65 and Stephen Fleming 92 at Hamilton in 1993-94 on Test debut against India.

# Ross Taylor (56 off 124 balls) has played brilliantly to post his tenth fifty in Tests - his first against India.

# Ryder and Williamson were associated in a 194-run stand for the fifth wicket - New Zealand's best against India, bettering the 142 between James Franklin and Ross Taylor at Wellington last year.

# The above partnership (194) is New Zealand's best for the fifth wicket on foreign soil, bettering the 183 between Robert Anderson and Mark Burgess against Pakistan at Lahore in 1976-77.

# The aforesaid stand is New Zealand's second best for the fifth wicket, next only to the 222 between Nathan Astle and Craig McMillan against Zimbabwe at Wellington in December 2000.
